More sitting and watching the sea

Sitting, watching the waves very good way to pass the time on Easdale.

Sunny day in Easdale

My sisters and I sat on the hill and looked out to sea. Our ferry was leaving soon but no one wanted to go back to Glasgow.

Jamming at the Wee Puffer

Yes there is a kind of bagpipe thingmy too. The photos of us doing the skinny dip in the quarrey got passed round the pub, my sister was not so pleased the camera fell into the wrong hands. Everyone agreed I had not changed a bit.

Top of the world

It was fifteen years since my last visit and Easdale was just as beautiful, pity so far from New York.

Easdale Sunset

This is the most romantic sunset spot, overlooking Mull. Still my sisters and I had fun making wishes as the sun went down during our Sister Retreat over Passover in Scotland.

Teeth chattering post swim Easdale Island Scotland

We did it! Then ran home for hot shallow bubble bath(somehow they never fixed the water in our cottage) and matzah sandwich.

The Easdale Swimming Quarrey Sista Swim

Now this was freezing but one went on so the other had to, that is how it is with sisters.

Long Beach, Sag Harbor

Jumped in the icy sea to get the summer going. It was just me and the one solitary jellyfish. Cold but not as cold as the Easdale swimming quarrey where my wee Sis and I swam in a sister dare two weeks ago.

Cottage by the sea

My first ever garden in the Hamptons. Plan is to do yoga, write, paint, eat and sleep in a tent in the garden, make full use of it. There is even a tiny deck for sunset watching.

Spring blossoms Sag Harbor

Sasha and I were cruising the Sag Harbor area hunting for a summer house. We had no car so we hitched lifts and walked everywhere. Good news we found a cottage by the beach! Here she is before the walk home.

Meanwhile outside in the living room, Jimmy and Sasha were celebrating.

"Our SP is alive and well and has a date. We saved her! Let's celebrate." They danced around the room gingerly, trying not to damage the valuable art pieces but keep the overjoyed spirit and energy mood high.

Ah, life can change in an instant. The moral is if you do feel deep despair and it is not worth struggling on, give yourself a second chance and do a judo / yoga roly poly into another room and see who is there! One never knows and now Spring is in the air one hopes boys are more focused on love and less focused on losses.

"Ok, I'll go but only if you promise to make me your delicious pasta dinner afterwards." I smiled, art and pasta and cowboy boots, life can change in an instant.

Diego even got a bit cute with the camera, showing his playful side. I smiled demurely from all and every angle, perhaps even competing with the painting for Diego's attention.

He sat on his bed looking at me with that look. His brown cowboy boots were cool and slinky and his jeans fitted perfectly. Best of all he was a real live man not a smily face or a flirt from a website.

"SP, would you care to join me to a gallery opening at my gallery next week, we are showing a new avant garde young exciting artist who is eating his gourmet raw salad right now."

"Radacchio man?" I asked.

"Francis DeRamano is his name, you will love his work."

SP tip, even if it is only 5 minutes after you nearly threw yourself "oot ra windey" always smile demurely for the camera, especially if Diego is behind the lens.

Hhmmm, I love this painting and I love this bedroom. Thank goodness I did not throw myself "oot ra winday", I would have missed this fantastic room and sexy photographer.

Diego was right. I was in a new dress from Cannes and white Chanel bag that was on it's first NY outing. How could I leave my wardrobe to rot or be fought over by all my friends. No no loser guy was worth that.

Instead of flying out the window I had done a lowball judo / yoga roll and dropped down to the floor unnoticed by Sasha and Jimmy, and slunk in the bedroom to think a few things over and there was the handsome Diego who was so eager to take a few shots of me, so in fact things were suddenly looking quite up indeed.

"What is the kerfuffle about, you are disturbing my guests who must enjoy my pasta dish in peace," said Diego, the cool Chelsea loft owner.

"I don't eat pasta anymore too many carbs but let my friends enjoy their dinner. I am closing the window once and for all. The SP is in my room posing in front of the paintings. She found a new photographer, ME. She is quite her usual self, even if she snagged the $50 Walfords on the window sill."

"Jimmy, I dont see her, the dating game was too much after all. I guess I had better go down and rescue the Chanel mid calf length boots, no point in them going to waste as well," she said bravely, wiping a tear from her eyes.

But it was too late, I had already lept to West Broadway, five long flights down or rather quick flights.

"SP, I don't see you," Sash peered out the window, a blast of cold April air chilling her through and through.

"Those boots are too high and uncomfortable I could never walk in them so I pick you, SP."

She grabbed my arm with great might and flair.

Only one person seemed a tad interested in my last minutes. Sasha. She grabbed my arm.

"Don't do it, she cried, "who will I do a summer house with in the Hamptons, I need you."

"But don't you want my wardrobe more? " I asked determined to let nothing impede my tragic demise.

My swan song leap was taking a bit longer than expected with the blue Chanel stiletto boots hampering my progress, that I hardly even wore but love so much, and worse than that everyone was busy eating their pasta instead of begging me to stay on earth. The cheek.

Chanel stiletto boots are not designed for dramatic operatic leaps out the 5th Floor, was my second last thought.

The Walford $50 fishnets the JDate pervey doctor was so desperate to see will go to waste, pity, was my last thought.

"He has not even noticed you or me, he is too busy being cool and unavailable and interesting. I can't take it. I am following Jimmy's good example and hopping out the window, at least I am wearing red matching lacy la perla underwear so I am good to go, thanks for being a great mate Sash, I will leave you all my clothes and 1950 pepper pot collection. See ya cruel world."

I made for the window that was enticingly open after Jimmy's attempted leap to West Broadway.

"It is not so bad being single at least we get to go to cool art parties like this and no one can tell us whenh have to leave. Look around you, there must be one chappie in this arty group, you like? What about him?" She pointed to a long haired French artist in a black cashmere sweater, eating a radicchio leaf.

With a dramatic flick of her long wavy ebony black Goddess hair she threw the artist a sultry look. He continued enjoying his radicchio leaf without looking up.

As we were posing and putting everyone off their home made Diego spaghetti nepolitani special , Sash and I got to talking and catching up.

"So, how are things in your world?"she asked. A perfectly innocent question.

"Well, do you really want to know?" I replied.

"Why sure,"she said genuinely.

"It's like this, I am still single, I got nowhere on JDate, Hot or Not, Plenty of Fish and could not understand how to do Nerve with their complicated points system, that you needed a doctorate to figure out. Now that I am single I fantasized myself as dating dating dating, in fact I even bought a whole new French wardrobe for my dates.

Instead, the Jewish doctor from NYU, with the gym rat's body, who seemed so perfect, with the 5 bedroom house in Southampton with pool and tennis court, insisted I wait for him in my place after midnight in garters and refused to take me to dinner. I told him , he was on the wrong website, there is other perfectly good websites for that type of thing, and Craig's List is not just for jobs and apartments.

I offered to cook another guy dinner to try and get a date as he refused to take me out too and even an SP evening of gourmet delights did not inspire him to send me a smily face or flirt let alone a note back. Am I doomed?" I sobbed in between smiles.

Jimmy asked us to move our faces more into the light.

"Occupy yourself Jimmy by taking some art photos of the lovely Miss Sasha and the SP in different lighting and mood settings.

Wait a minute, is that not Jimmy Venturi the famous East village film director who seems to be about to throw himself out the window. His recent escapade involved saving an architect's house from being torn down , his parents' house, by physically lifting it up and then floating it up the Hudson river. As a result he is the talk of the town and beautiful woman are throwing themselves at his feet.

"Jimmy, don't do it, it can't be that bad. You will spoil a perfectly good party, get back inside." I yelled, just in time.

"Oh SP,"he said, with a smile exuding great gratefullness,"you rescued me, I was about to end it all over a woman who is refusing to be my facebook friend, I have already 561 friends, but she is the only one who really matters."

Well at least it was over love, not stocks, more noble by far.

"Jimmy, you need to see some art and you are in the right place for that. Now chillax, baby."
